Of all the peppers out there, jalapeños have to be the most popular. Jalapeños offer heat that won’t set your mouth on fire yet still has some snap. These peppers also make a great addition to plenty of recipes.

Jalapenos

Not only does my recipe include one of the most popular peppers, but it also includes bacon and cream cheese. I think we all know that you can’t go wrong with bacon or cream cheese. Especially bacon, mmmm!

What to Cook Bacon Wrapped Jalapeños With?

For the bacon-wrapped jalapeños recipe, I use a Weber Kettle 70th Anniversary Edition charcoal grill for cooking. Other charcoal grills are okay to use as well.

For charcoal, I like to use Royal Oak’s lump charcoal. I use this over briquettes. Using actual wood chunks makes me feel better since it seems more natural.

How Do You Make Jalapeño Stuffed Cream Cheese Wrapped In Bacon

How to Prepare Jalapeños

Step 1: Rinse off jalapeños with water and dry off with a paper towel.

Step 2: With your chef’s knife, cut your jalapeños in half length-wise. Do not remove the stem.

Jalapenos sliced in half

Step 3: Once all jalapeños have been sliced in half, take your paring knife, cut out, and toss the seeds. Set to the side while mixing cream cheese and cooking bacon.

How to Fry Bacon

Step 1: With your chef’s knife, cut a couple of pieces of bacon into cubes to fry.

Joshs Cookhouse Tips: Make sure to leave enough bacon to wrap each jalapeño with one slice of bacon each.

Step 2: Place the medium pan onto the stovetop and set the heat to medium. Place bacon in the pan after it heats up.

Step 3: Fry bacon until it is fully cooked. The bacon should be a bit crispy to add an extra texture to the cream cheese mixture.

Cubed bacon fried

Step 4: Place the fried bacon onto a plate with a paper towel to help absorb some of the fat on the bacon.

Step 5: Chop the fried bacon into small pieces after it has had time to cool.

Preparing Bacon Wrapped Jalapeños Filling

Step 1: Place the entire 8 oz block of cream cheese in a medium glass bowl.

Joshs Cookhouse Tips: To make it easier when mixing cream cheese, try warming it in the microwave for about 30- 60 seconds. Then start adding everything to it.

Step 2: Add in your bacon bits, 1 cup of sharp cheddar cheese, and season with 2 tsp of kosher salt, 1 tsp of ground black pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder.

Step 3: Mix all of the ingredients evenly together.

Step 4: With your wooden spoon, scoop out the cream cheese filling and place it inside a zip lock or piping bag. Then cut off one of the bottom corners roughly ½ inch.

Assembling the Cream Cheese Stuffed Bacon Wrapped Jalapeños

Step 1: Place your jalapeños hollowed outside onto a platter covered with aluminum foil. With your ziplock bag/piping bag, start squeezing an even amount of the cream cheese filling into the jalapeños.

Joshs Cookhouse Tips: It is a personal preference, but I like to take the back of a knife and spread the filling evenly in the center of the jalapeños.

Jalapenos stuffed with cream cheese

Step 2: Grab a slice of bacon and evenly wrap as much of the jalapeño as possible.

Once the jalapeños have been wrapped, it is time to fire up the Weber Kettle.

How to Light a Charcoal Grill

Step 1: Place charcoal into your charcoal chimney. Set a fire starter on the ground and light it. Now put the charcoal chimney over the fire starter and let the charcoal catch. The charcoal will be ready to go when the charcoal is glowing red hot and white in color.

Step 2: Take off the top level of the grating to set the lit charcoal inside.

Step 3: Once the charcoal is lit, dump the charcoal on one-half of the bottom level of the Weber Kettle grill.

Step 4: Set the top level of the grating back in place. Shut the lid and regulate the temperature to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

Joshs Cookhouse Tips: Closing the vents will lower the temperature, and opening them will increase the temperature.

Enjoying Your Food

Now that you have all finished grilling your stuffed jalapenos, it is time to enjoy the final product.

Normally, I eat cream cheese bacon-wrapped jalapenos as an appetizer. I believe if you eat enough of them, they could make a full meal. That should not be too hard to do with how delicious these are.

If you ever feel like sprucing this recipe up, try turning the stuffed jalapenos into armadillo eggs. That is another fantastic recipe utilizing jalapenos.
